Initialisation
==============

    * If you are editing a gismu list with special charset,
      be sure to set the LANG and LC_CTYPE envvars accordingly.
      (for my french work I have LANG=fr_FR and no LC_CTYPE).
      Mind that extended ascii is stripped off on display with
      the default LC_CTYPE.

    * Place (at least) a copy of the gismu file in the current directory
      under the name "gismu.in".
      A link is sufficient, it will be not overwritten.
    * Place your "new format" list in the current directory with the name
      "gismu_new.in". The program will save any changes in "gismu_new.out".
      These filenames are *not* configurable at runtime (see src/app.cc).

    * run the program

Main usage
==========

    At the lower left of the screen is the gismu list with the keywords. Only
    the first 15 chars of each keyword list is displayed, though many more can
    be stored/modified.
    You can browse this list with the usual direction keys, or with
    	Ctrl+U,D,P,N
    You can exit the program from this list with Ctrl+X. You are then asked to
    confirm the command, with the choice of commiting changes to the output file
    or not.
    While browsing this list, a top pane displays the description of each gismu
    from the official gismu list.

    Pressing the Enter key on a gismu in the list opens the gismu mini-editor.
    This form allows to edit the various fields associated with the gismu.
    Press F1 for help with keyboard shortcuts.

    Pressing F2 updates the gismu list in memory but does not close the editor.

    Pressing Ctrl+X in the mini-editor pops up a confirm dialog, which leads (or
    not) to the closing of the form and update of the gismu list in memory.

    Due to a bug (2000-08-30) in ncurses, you have to make sure to switch to
    another field (Ctrl+F) after your last modification before saving. Else this
    last modification will be lost.

    If you have problems with your backspace/delete keys, use Ctrl+H to erase
    instead. See the file BUGS for a hint on "fixing" it.
